What is WhyWatch?
WhyWatch is an independent movie and TV show discovery platform built for audiences in India. We help you find where to stream, rent, or buy your favorite movies and TV shows across all major platforms including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, JioHotstar (Disney+ Hotstar), Zee5, Sony LIV, Apple TV+, MUBI, and many more. Our goal is simple: save you time by aggregating streaming availability in one place so you never have to check each platform individually.
Our Mission
We believe that finding what to watch should be effortless. With dozens of streaming platforms available in India, each with its own rotating catalog, keeping track of where a specific movie is available has become a frustrating experience. WhyWatch exists to solve this problem by providing a comprehensive, up-to-date, and easy-to-use streaming guide that puts the viewer first. We focus specifically on the Indian market, covering Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, English, and other language content available to Indian viewers.
How We Get Our Data
All movie information on WhyWatch — including titles, cast, crew, plot summaries, ratings, and images — is sourced from TMDB (The Movie Database), a community-maintained movie database. We use the TMDB API under their non-commercial terms of service. Streaming availability information is verified regularly and updated as platform catalogs change. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

While we strive to keep all streaming availability information accurate and up-to-date, platform catalogs change frequently and we may not always reflect the very latest changes immediately.
