DMCA / COPYRIGHT POLICY

1. Intellectual Property Respect

WhyWatch respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We do not host, stream, upload, or store any copyrighted video or audio content on our servers. Our Service functions as an informational directory that aggregates publicly available data about where movies and TV shows may be legally streamed, rented, or purchased online. We take copyright infringement seriously and will respond to any valid DMCA takedown notices in accordance with applicable law.

2. Content Sources and Licensing

Movie Data and Images: All movie metadata (titles, cast, crew, plot summaries, ratings, release dates) and images (posters, backdrops, stills) displayed on WhyWatch are sourced from TMDB (The Movie Database) and are used in accordance with TMDB's Terms of Service. TMDB data is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). We provide proper attribution to TMDB as required.

Movie Trailers: Trailer videos embedded on WhyWatch are hosted on YouTube by their respective copyright owners (typically movie studios or official channels). We do not upload or host trailer videos ourselves. Embedding YouTube videos is permitted under YouTube's Terms of Service.

3. Streaming Platform Links

WhyWatch provides links to third-party streaming platforms (such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, JioHotstar, and others). These links direct users to the official platforms where content may be legally accessed. We do not host, control, or have any affiliation with the content available on these third-party platforms. If you believe a streaming platform is hosting unauthorized content, please contact that platform directly.

4. DMCA Takedown Procedure

If you believe that any content on WhyWatch infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. Section 512), your notice must include the following:

• A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
• Identification of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed
• Identification of the material on WhyWatch that you claim is infringing, with sufficient detail for us to locate it (include the URL of the specific page)
• Your contact information, including name, address, telephone number, and email address
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

5. How to Submit a DMCA Notice

Please send all DMCA takedown notices to us through our Contact page, selecting "Other" as the subject and including "DMCA" in your message. We will review and process valid DMCA notices promptly, typically within 3-5 business days.

6. Counter-Notification

If you believe that your content was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include your physical or electronic signature, identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed in error, and your consent to jurisdiction.

7. Repeat Infringer Policy

WhyWatch will terminate access for users or content providers who are repeat infringers of copyright. We maintain records of DMCA notices received and will take appropriate action against accounts or content sources that receive multiple valid infringement complaints.
